Emilie Duval releases very personal new album “Autoportrait”

In 2012, Emilie Duval released her first album called “Natur’elle” as well as her first single “Uh Baby”. Since then she has done a lot of performances with her own songs but also with her rather successful project “Tribute to Céline Dion“, her idol since childhood.

The last months Emilie worked hard to finish her new album which is way more personal, more intimate. With the precious help of Claude Zeimes, she has recorded some wonderful songs. Most of them are ballads with strong melodies and beautiful orchestral arrangements. You have to listen for yourself. You only have to wait a little bit as the new opus which is called “Autoportrait” will be released on 17th March 2016 at Alvisse Parc Hotel.

The release party will not just be a concert, it will be a show, with dancers and string orchestra.

My contribution

I am very happy that I was able to contribute a song to this new album called “Hisser la grand’ voile”. I composed the music some time ago and Emilie completed it with nice lyrics and an amazing melody. Claude Zeimes then rearranged it for this album. What a nice collaboration. I would also like to thank Emilie for her trust in me as her graphic designer

Strysles to release debut EP “Tic Tac”

I have been playing with Strysles for some years now and Strysles was also the reason I switched to bass playing Yeah, very cool.

Last year we were looking for a singer and we found a great match: Elena Kramdi-Drvosanova. That was a new start. We rearranged and recomposed most of our songs with the aim to make a decent recording. And now we’re happy to tell you: The time has come. On 23rd April 2016 we will host our EP Release Party.

The Filthy Broke Billionaires will support us and play the first part. Check them out! They have also released their EP on 15th January at Rockhal.

First-H Revival Concert and Birthday Party

In the 90s I made my first experiences playing in a band. My first band was a rock band named “Azreal”. Our drummer with this band was Fränz Meisch who was also the singer of the band “First-H”. I always liked that group that were playing a cool mix of blues and funk which was new to me. Then they had this big success while playing as support for Bon Jovi (11.7.1996) and opening up for Toto. After their keyboarder Laurent Biel left the band end of the 90s, I replaced him on the keyboards.

First-H was born in 1994 when some friends who were living in the same street and playing football together, decided to start a band project. So now on 15th January 2016, 21 years after the very first First-H Gig, we will celebrate this with a Revival Concert in the café where it all began (“Lo Stadio” in Niederkorn, formerly known as “Mabuhay”).

Show with Eric Martin from Mr. Big

We had a show with Go By Brooks at the Singer Songwriter Night in Dudelange “Op der Schmelz”. We played as support for Ron Sexsmith and Eric Martin (Frontman from Mr. Big). That was a great opportunity and we even had even the chance to play “Crossroads” and “To be with you” toether with Eric Martin on Stage Here is a little video on YouTube and there are also some videos on our Facebook Page, so check this out.

Go By Brooks & Emilie Duval at Bal du 14 juillet

For the first time, French National Day on 14th July is celebrated in Luxembourg too with an official big party at Place Guillaume (Knuedler). From 5 p.m. till midnight you can dance to the rhythm of the different bands performing and enjoy a good glass of wine. 5.000 people or so are awaited.

The event is organized by the association “Bal du 14 juillet a.s.b.l.” created by the 4 advisers of the french consul in Luxembourg: Carole Biot-Stuart, Monique Dejeans, Alexandre Chateau-Docos et Bruno Théret.

There will be the main bands “Stereo Total“, an acoustic duo, as well as the band “Shebeen“.

10 other bands will perform at Knuedler (Place Guillaume) that day. I will have the honour to play bass with two bands on that day:

18:30 – 19:00 with my band Go By Brooks
19:30 – 20:15 as guest with fabulous Emilie Duval

Jazz Crimes 4tet at Bluesexpress 2015

Last year at Bluesexpress I played some smooth jazz together with Jérôme Fellerich on saxophone. Here is a short excerpt from last year:

This year, I thought it would be more fun to play with a bassplayer and a drummer. So we will play some standard jazz songs in our very own version. And because we can’t guarantee that we won’t deface some songs, I thought Jazz Crimes 4tet could be an adequate name for this project

You can also book a table and have dinner while we play for you. But hurry up, otherwise there won’t be any more seats.

Welcome dear page visitor,

This page about my musical activities has been online some time ago until I had really massive problems with my webhosting service provider. I was not able to get my site back and so I decided to move over to a more reliable provider (this was true for some other websites too which was very annoying). It took me some time to get the old content back as other projects and events in my life have always been more important than recreating this. However, it has been about time to invest some effort, so here I am again and you can browse through my different musical activities.
